An attractive Afshar rug with an allover diamond design. The eye is drawn immediately to the central white diamonds with their reciprocally hooked edges. The surrounding diamonds repeat the image until we near the borders where the half diamonds that merge into the border have a simpler checkerboard design, this serves as the transition into the border which itself has a hypnotic quality. The red and blue seem to switch to the front then back depending on your focus. A very decorative rug with lovely soft wool and subdued tones.
