This rug falls outside of the proper criteria for an antique rug in that it is probably only seventy years old. Sometimes I will buy a later rug if I think it has a good look. The white ground and fine knotting makes this example very decorative and the colours are not offensive. The large boteh march to and fro interspersed with a well drawn flower. The border is more geometic and formal compared to the soft lines of the boteh in the main field. An affordable hand made rug with good dimensions and a great look.
