Beshir torba, second half 19th century

Measurements: 41cm x 136cm

56 Knots per inch

Price: £120

A distressed little Beshir torba from the region near the Amu Darya river. The designs mimic Ikat weaving from Uzbekistan and are an interesting diversion in the Turkoman weaving tradition which typically is quite conservative. Despite the condition the colours still impress and the wear announces its great age.

Condition:

Poor condition with visible wear and some crude repair.
