This is the second time I have owned this rug and I welcome it back with open arms. I call it Frankenstein’s Bijar as it has been made from a much larger rug that obviously had problems. Cut and shut is the term used for rugs that have been shortened but this one is almost a patchwork of the original and where a patch wasn’t available it has been rewoven. That said I really like it, the scale of the border works well and the decoration here deserves some space. It is a very attractive decorative rug that despite it’s condition issues retains its beauty.
Condition:
Poor to fair condition with the main issue being that It is cut and shut with patches sewn in and old repairs visible. The work has been carried out remarkably well and the piece is quite strong despite its long history of repairs.
