One of my favourite types of rug, these old Bijars never fail to please with their shining colours and intricate designs. They have a certain quality which is hard to define, I think they look a hundred years older than they actually are whilst working in almost any situation. Many oriental rugs clash with different decors with their bold designs and bright colours.
Bijar rugs are highly decorative, they appear to pull off the trick of being complex and busy but retaining a quiet subtle beauty. The abrash in the light blue is breathtaking and the border intoxicating. As ever this is as tough as they come, as I always say ‘you can park your car on them’.

Condition:

Allover wear but nothing of concern. There is a small repair in the middle and some loss to one end. Otherwise this is an extremely robust rug.
