The Mina Khani design is a classic and one of my favourites. A lattice of rosettes fill the central field and drift off into the main border to give the impression of an infinite pattern. This rug has some age and has suffered over the years. Despite the ravages of time its beauty shines through, the central field is stunning and the bold border frames the rug perfectly. The construction is quite stiff with the warps almost sitting on top of each other which gives it a certain thickness and strength. I like to use these types of rugs in the busier areas of my house because of their robustness. As I write this one takes pride of place in my living room where I can drink in it’s wonderful archaic beauty.

Condition:

Lots of low pile with exposed warps in places. Both sides are missing and the ends have also retreated into the rug. There are a couple large poor repairs one of which doesnt sit flat. To be frank it is in pretty poor condition but it’s strong construction means it has plenty of use left in it. Sometimes it is nice to have a beautiful rug that you can use anywhere without fear of damaging it. It is priced accordingly.
