Ersari chuval, second half 19th century

I have alway been drawn to Ersari chuvals, they are not the finest of the Turkoman pieces but they are fine enough and the older examples like this glow with a quality you don’t see on later ones. They also have more space to allow the design to breathe and the colour is always good. They call it the Turkoman velvet and it is easy to see why when you handle an old chuval like this. Despite its condition I think its beauty shines through and I am confident it will enhance any setting.
Condition:
Poor condition with ends and sides being untidy and some patched repairs plus a little tear at one corner.
