I am very fond of this Hamadan rug with it’s pleasing palette. The soft madder red sets the tone and contrasts nicely with the deep blue of the central diamond. The three borders of similar size and interlocking design are well balanced with the middle white border standing out and framing the entire rug. I have always liked a good Hamadan, they are affordable, robust and if you can find one with a good palette they make lovely usable pieces. This one has some condition issues but it is one I would gladly use in my house if I didn’t have all of those other rugs.

Condition:

Quite poor condition with a lot of wear and some old moth damage. The selvedges also need some attention. The price is adjusted to reflect this although it may increase if I ever find the time to fix it.
