Heriz carpets are wonderfully decorative and I have always loved them. There is something about the complexity of design that I find mesmerising and I believe they can hold their interest for a lifetime. This complex design is portrayed in a rich palette. That is the other good feature of Heriz pieces, the colours are so good and far superior to many other rugs. The central medallion is dominated by the fresh red with details picked out in inky dark blues, sublime greens and yellows. Even the border, so dark against the field is a riot of flowers and leaves once again shining with fresh colour in the details. These carpets are also incredibly tough and of very good quality wool.
I could eulogise for much longer about this piece’s merits but I think it probably speaks for itself.
Condition:
Good condition with a little loss to the ends.
