The ever popular Jaf bagface. I generally have a few of these in my collection and I often sell them, maybe because I enthuse about them so much. I love Kurdish rugs and bagfaces, they are without doubt my favourites with their wonky random designs and rich colours. Jaf are distinctive with their jewel like colours and offset knotting which allows the drawing of the diagonal to be much cleaner. They love a diagonal too, especially on their bags. Look at the arrangement of the different coloured diamonds on this example, is this random placementy or deliberate dsign. I believe it is a little of both with the single white diamond purposely placed to focus the eye in the centre. The red diamonds dominate and blue only gets a brief look in whilst half diamond in a soft yellow pops up under the bottom border. One diamond is so dark it almost appears like an abyss against the brighter surroundings. The stars at the top are a welcome addition and not as commonly seen as the other designs here.

Fair condition with some damage to the kelim portion and some loss at the top.
