Kurdish pieces are probably my favourites and Jaf weaving holds a special place in my heart. This particular little bagface is unusual both in the design and slightly softer palette than is often seen on Jafs. The design is quite well ordered for a Kurdish piece and the eye is drawn to the central hooked medallion that stands out boldly against the white background. The border is typical Jaf and less well drawn than the central field. If you want to find mistakes in any rug or trapping then look to how they execute the corners of the border, this one shows overlapping motifs, a nice little detail in a very attractive bag.

Good pile with some loss to the ends.
