Karaja rugs have the same decorative qualities as Heriz pieces although this one has a much subtler palette. It is unusual to find rugs that are square and this is no exception as it has been expertly reduced at some point. Often this is a problem but when it is an invisible repair it doesn’t detract from the overall look and in this case I think the design is still well balanced. The blue background has good abrash and there are some really lovely colours throughout the rug. The white border brightens the appearance and sets the inner field back as if one is looking through a window. A very tidy rug with great appeal and a subtle beauty.

Condition:

Very good apart from the reduction in length. As I state in the description this has been expertly executed and is very hard to find.
