Khamseh rug, circa 1900
Measurements: 178cm x 128cm (5’10 x 4’2)
99 Knots per inch
Price: £380
An attractive little Khamseh rug with an allover boteh field infilled with flowers and all manner of motifs. I love these busy bright rugs with their long lasting appeal. A Talish flower appears in the spandrels linked by the stepped inner border which appears to recede and allow extra motifs to be crammed into the field. I love this type of rug especially with the allover design, a great example of type.
Condition:
The pile is quite low with the foundation showing in places, there are a number of old repairs. The sides and ends are good but the price is adjusted to take into account the general condition.
