Kurdish bagface, circa 1900

Measurements: 44cm x 44cm

80 Knots per inch

Price: £140

An attractive little bagface with a fresh madder ground. The design is quite crudely drawn which I quite like, there is something of the homemade quality about these pieces which differentiates them from workshop productions. All of the colours are good, I particularly like the light blue/green in the central cross. Altogether a charming little example of Kurdish weaving.

Condition:

The edges and sides are quite eroded and the corners have retreated a good deal as can be seen.
