Rich colours and lustrous wool are typical of Kurdish weaving, these pieces are amongst my favourites and here is one that always delights me. Four mirrored boteh like shapes occupy the corners divided by a central cross. The simple crosses on a white background in the borders lighten the overall look on what might have been a very dark piece, such is the intensity of the indigo field. The weft wrapped top and flatwoven back are well executed. Altogether a very beautiful piece.
Condition:
Good condition, just a couple of areas of wear.
