Luri rug, early 20th century

Measurements: 164cm x 92cm (5’4 x 3’)

56 Knots per inch

Price: £1,300

This is a busy little rug full of interest. Three vases decorate the central spine surrounded by geometric and floral motifs. There are a number of figures on the rug, one in each spandrel and a small family in the main field. The colour palette is unusual with a dark red, gold and a bright green.
The borders are simple and inobtrusive which allows the main field to blossom with its lively scene. This is a very tidy little rug with good pile and no issues, unusual for an antique piece.

Condition:

Very good with full pile and good sides and ends. There is a little corrosion to the brown field as expected and some re-piling.
