Mazlaghan rugs are certainly bold and this is no exception. I like north Persian rugs with their cotton foundation and sturdy weave. They are very usable rugs that are made to last. The serrated diamond that dominates the centre is their trademark, often surrounded by rows of small flowers that seem to slip under the diamond giving an illusion of depth. I particularly like the border on this rug, the white background contrasts nicely with the darker centre. This is a very good decorative rug with a good hundred years of life left in it.

Condition:

Good condition with the knots in the central field being just a little lower than the borders. The bottom end has lost a few rows of knots but is secure.
