These Oushak pieces are sometimes referred to a Turkey rugs and were produced in vast quantities in the early 20th Century. They are coarsely knotted with an all wool foundation, red is the most common field colour by some degree although they are found in blues and apricots and these examples can fetch high prices. Lately these rugs have made a comeback I think due to their decorative qualities, there is certainly a distinct archaic look to them with their fine angular motifs floating on the expansive field. An inexpensive piece considering the age and decorative qualities.

Condition:

Fair condition with some wear in the middle and a little fading/staining. None of which detracts from the overall appearance and the price is also adjusted accordingly.
