This Sarouk Feraghan rug is very fine which allows the design to be well articulated as can be seen in the fine tendrils and flowers that cover nearly every inch of its surface. The rich border wonderfully frames the central field with three layers of depth from the white spandrels to the inner red field and finally the central deep blue medallion. The palette is very good with some lovely soft apricots, a dark green and a very light blue. Sometimes a rug’s palette can be one of the best indications of provenance and this is typical of the type. I find this piece quite mesmerising with it’s intricate design and subtle colours. A very beautfiul decorative rug that would enhance any room.

Condition:

Both ends have been reworked and there is a little repair in the central medallion, otherwise and sound, strong rug.
