A very fine example of soumac work. I have a penchant for diagonal stripes and this one caught my eye immediately with its fresh blue and strong red stripes divided by smaller ivory stripes. There is some random ornamentation put in to fill the spaces where required. The borders are well drawn, the major border of abstact floral designs is flanked by two reciprocal black and ivory diamond borders, the inner one being more condensed than the outer which is quite mesmerising. Definitely one of those magical pieces that draws you in the more you look at it and worthy of any wall.
Condition:
The black wool has corroded in places.
