Here is a lively and colourful runner from Anatolia. I love these floppy rugs with thick pile and soft wool and this one also has a really pleasing palette. The design although mirrored down the centre is quite random as the weaver introduces new motifs along the length of the rug. The main border is strong and is bounded by two simplistic minor borders the inner one being in a fresh blue which contrasts against the bold red field. A fun rug which demands your attention and has a long lasting interest.

Condition:

Some wear and also some old repair but otherwise secured and ready to use.
