Yastiks are small rugs that were used as cushion covers and sometimes had kelim backs that allowed them to double up as small bags. This example has some great colours including a rich cochineal pink. The central field is quite hypnotic with stripes containing a meandering line. The border is simple but effective, like the bolder end borders these are designs that might be seen on Turkish kelims. This is a lovely piece with soft wool and strong vegetable dyes and one I am very happy to have in my collection.

Condition:

Very good condition with some signs of old repair.
